Centennial Youth Sports Parent Code of Conduct
Centennial Youth Sports has adopted the following Parent Code of Conduct to emphasize the vital role parents play in supporting their child’s participation in sports. Parents are required to read, understand, and sign this form before their child can participate in our league.

Any parent who engages in inappropriate behavior during a game or practice will be asked to leave the facility and will be suspended from the next game. Repeated violations may result in multiple-game suspensions or loss of the privilege to attend games for the remainder of the season.
Sports build character and teach ethics through the principles of sportsmanship, which include: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Good Citizenship. The true value of sports is realized when competition reflects these six principles.
Parent Pledge
-
As a parent, I pledge to:
-
Support, not force participation: I will not pressure my child to play sports.
-
Keep fun the priority: I will remember that youth sports are for children, not adults.
-
Ensure safety: I will inform the coach of any physical condition that could affect my child or others.
-
Learn the rules: I will familiarize myself with the game rules and league policies.
-
Model positive behavior: My guests and I will demonstrate respect, courtesy, and support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every event.
-
Avoid unsportsmanlike conduct: We will not boo, taunt, refuse handshakes, or use foul language or gestures.
-
Teach respect and fairness: I will encourage my child to play by the rules and resolve conflicts peacefully.
-
Promote inclusivity: I will insist my child treats everyone with respect, regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or ability.
-
Value effort over outcome: I will teach my child that doing their best matters more than winning.
-
Celebrate effort: I will praise my child for fair play and hard work, making them feel successful regardless of the score.
-
Avoid ridicule: I will never yell at or belittle my child or others for mistakes or losses.
-
Focus on development: I will emphasize skill-building and practice over winning.
-
Prioritize well-being: I will place my child’s emotional and physical health above any desire to win.
-
Respect authority: I will honor officials’ decisions and speak with coaches only at agreed-upon times and places.
-
Maintain a healthy environment: I will demand a sports setting free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and refrain from using them at events.
-
Leave coaching to coaches: I will not coach my child or other players during games or practices unless I am an official coach.
